Red Bull Theater believes racism is abhorrent.
We stand together with Black artists and colleagues, and theatergoers–those we know and those we seek to know. Black Lives Matter.
If we continue to be complicit in the systemic racism rampant in our culture, we deny our common humanity, we narrow our capacity to explore the human condition, we corrupt the stories we tell, and we diminish the art we offer.
We believe in the power of theater. We recognize that that power comes from the stories chosen, the way they are told, and who tells them. We acknowledge that we have the privilege to make these choices. We bear the responsibility to make that privilege universal.
Red Bull Theater strives to be a home for all artists and theatergoers. Simply saying that is not enough to make this a true home for black, indigenous, and other artists of color. We know we have work to do. We seek to earn trust and hear truths that challenge us. We commit to making antiracism a core value of our theater. You can expect to see clear action from us. And we expect to be held to account when we fall short.
All of us at Red Bull Theater are committed to actively working to help realize a more perfect union—a racially and socially just America.
