Michael Sexton

Director

Red Bull Theater: Shakespeare's Margaret. Michael Sexton is the Artistic Director of The Shakespeare Society in NYC. Recent directing credits include: As You Like It and Henry V at Two River Theater Company; Kelly Masterson’s Edith with Jayne Atkinson and Jack Gilpin at the Berkshire Theater Festival; and Titus Andronicus with Jay O. Sanders at the Public Theater. In addition to Red Bull Theater, he has directed at New York Theater Workshop, MCC, Classic Stage Company, Soho Rep, PS122, The Old Globe, Portland Center Stage, Playmakers Rep, Rising Phoenix Rep, SPF, and The Cherry Lane Alternative. He has been a guest artist at NYU’s Graduate Acting Program, the Juilliard School, Rutgers University, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, and Columbia University. For the Shakespeare Society, Michael has programmed and directed events featuring a variety of actors, singers, dancers, directors, and scholars, including F. Murray Abraham, Michael Cerveris, John Douglas Thompson, James Shapiro, Robert Pinsky, Marjorie Garber, Trevor Nunn, Denis O’Hare, and Estelle Parsons.

Brett J Banakis

Set and Lighting Designer

Brett J. Banakis is a Set Designer for Theater, Opera and Film based in Brooklyn, NY. Recent credits include Big Love at the Signature Theater (Lortel Nomination), O.P.C. at American Repertory Theater, and Arcadia at The Juilliard School. Brett has also co-designed (with Christine Jones) Whorl Inside a Loop at Second Stage, and Close to You on the West End. Brett has served as an Associate Set Designer for dozens of large-scale plays, musicals, and operas, including Harry Potter and The Cursed Child, The Last Ship, If/Then, Old Times, Doctor Zhivago, Hands on Hardbody, And Bengal Tiger At The Baghdad Zoo, and Rigoletto at the Metropolitan Opera.

Thomas Schall

Fight Director

Thomas has served as fight director on over 60 Broadway shows, among them, The Front Page, The Crucible, Blackbird, Waitress, The King and I, This Is Our Youth, Of Mice And Men, Romeo And Juliet, Lucky Guy, War Horse, Death Of A Salesman, Venus In Fur, Merchant Of Venice, A View From The Bridge, and Wicked. He has worked extensively at the Public Theater (Hamlet, King Lear, Titus Andronicus, Mother Courage, Father Comes Home From The Wars), Lincoln Center Theater (A Free Man Of Color, Disgraced, Blood And Gifts), MTC (Ruined, Murder Ballad), and the Met Opera (Nozze di Figaro, Il Trovatore).

 

Sydney Skybetter

Movement Director 

Sydney Skybetter is a choreographer. His dances have been performed around the country at such venues as The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Boston Center for the Arts, Jacob’s Pillow, and The Joyce Theater. He is a Public Humanities Fellow and faculty member at Brown University, and founder of the Conference for Research on Choreographic Interfaces (CRCI). He produces shows at Joe’s Pub, SteelStacks and OBERON with DanceNOW[NYC], and is the winner of a RISCA Fellowship in Choreography from the State of Rhode Island. website

Brandon Cournay 

Associate Movement Director 

Brandon Cournay is originally from Detroit, MI and is currently the Rehearsal Director and Company Manager of KEIGWIN + COMPANY. He has performed with the Mark Morris Dance Group, Morphoses, Company XIV, The New York Theatre Ballet, Dance Heiginbotham, The Metropolitan Opera Ballet, and in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Television: “Puma,” “Sesame Street,” “Target,” “PBS’ Great Performances”.  Film: Musical Chairs (HBO). Associate Choreographer for I Am Anne Hutchinson / I Am Harvey Milk, My Fair Lady (Bay Street), and The Wildness (Ars Nova). Training: Brandon received his BFA from The Juilliard School.

Dakin Matthews

Dramaturg

Dakin Matthews is an actor, playwright, translator, Emeritus Professor of English, and dramaturge of over forty Shakespeare productions, including for directors Jack O’Brien, Daniel Sullivan, John Rando, and Darko Tresnjak.  He won a Drama Desk Award for his Broadway adaptation of Shakespeare’s Henry IV and has coached Denzel Washington, Neil Patrick Harris, and Camryn Manheim in Shakespearean roles.   His handbook Shakespeare Spoken Here is in its sixth edition.  He has appeared in over 250 stage plays, 250 episodes of television, and 30 films.  He is currently in Waitress on Broadway.

Stuart Howard & Paul Hardt

Casting

Stuart and Paul have been casting for the Red Bull Theater for many years. They also cast for Broadway, Off-Broadway and regional theatres across the country including Philadelphia Theatre Company, Goodspeed Musicals, Delaware Theatre Company, Asolo Repertory Theatre and Studio Theatre in Washington, DC.

David Gersten and Associates

Press Representative

David Gersten and Associates has served as press representatives and marketing consultants on Broadway and off for over twenty years. In addition to Red Bull (10 seasons), other not-for profit theaters currently represented include INTAR, Keen Company, Mint Theater, NAATCO, TACT, and Theatreworks USA, among others. As a producer, David is currently represented by the long running hit Shear Madness. David serves on the Board of Governors of ATPAM, the Association of Theatrical Press Agents & Managers and is a member of the Off-Broadway League and a founder of the Off-Broadway Alliance. website
